Teaching: Praise, blame and reward

Inside every behaviour is a child struggling to behave. Behaviour is ‘cognitive’ and your response should attempt to be too.
It is important that with your words, tone, facial expressions and role modelling; that you are sending out the ‘right’ messages so that the child is not confused in their cognitive understanding of your message. You certainly cannot blame a child if they do not understand ‘completely’ what it is you are helping them to learn (from their behaviour or your words).
